Medicare Basics
Medicare is a federal insurance program that provides health insurance for people 65 and older and individuals younger than 65 that may qualify due to a disability.
There are four different parts to Medicare — Part A, B, C, and D. Click the + next to each part for more information about each part!

Medicare Part A is hospital coverage. It covers care you receive while an inpatient in a hospital or skilled nursing facility.

Medicare Part D is prescription drug coverage. Plans cover many medications that are prescribed by your doctor or other qualified health professionals. These are privately managed and federally approved.
